The BEST part of being a teacher and/or married to a teacher is SUMMER VACATION!!! And it's here...yesterday was TPs last day with the kiddos and tonight he's at graduation.
It should be noted that our summer vacation isn't really 90 days of beach bliss-- this weekend we have a little getaway planned, then TP has curriculum writing meetings, summer school for 2 weeks, one week off, then 5 more weeks of summer school, then more curriculum writing, building Habitat for Humanity home, then some other class he's teaching (we seize any opportunity to make a little money) and then back to school workshops. I'm taking a class twice a week for 3 hours---$76 for the book. How is there not more OUTRAGE about the price of textbooks?!?!?!? (I did find it cheaper on Amazon...) And then in August I'm back to watching S. I think we'd like to go to Milwaukee for the Circus Parade if possible and maybe some camping.
Eak-gads- summer is too short!!!!
I know Tommy is excited for the summer, but sad about the end of the year (I think May/June is the SADDEST time of the year-- with everything ending and so many good-byes- everything seems to change this time of the year.) We went to the annual math staff picnic last night and 2 teachers are leaving- one retiring and the other moving to Iowa. It's a fun time and neat to see the all the children growing up. TP works with a lot of really fun people!!!
