California

Somehow we ended up driving to California last week for a quick trip. It's along story as to how and why the trip occurred so I'll save any explanations for Tommy. Saturday night we stayed in Des Moines, Sunday night in Denver, Monday night in St. George, 3 nights in Fullerton (it's near Anaheim), Friday night in Nephi, UT then drive on home. We stayed at Darcy's home and visited Tommy's Aunt Carol and her family and his grandparents. We saw his grandfathers ship Midway in San Diego. We went to Santa Monica for the day to visit with my cousin Aimee and her kiddos.

Kathryn and Eleanor did fantastic in the car. Kathryn knew every stop meant a park or a pool and Eleanor slept a lot!!! We read lots of books (or more like the same books repeatedly.) The scariest part of the drive was Denver to Vail. The snow and mountains were pretty intense, but Tommy did great with the conditions. In the hotels Kathryn slept in a queen bed and perfected the art of drinking water out of plastic hotel cups.

It was wonderful to visit everyone! We had a great time!!! But no long road trips for awhile...
